Consumption: What defines you
Your Self is a result of 1. Your genetics, and 2. Your experiences
Of course, everyone is a slave to their genetics in some way or another, but what mainly defines your Self is your experiences, AKA, what you have consumed.
Food, drinks, media, these are all things you consume, or experience.
Your friendships, family, environment, these are all things you take in, process, internalize.
All of these, and everything else your senses can process are what you consume. They are your parts, mechanisms, and what make up the sum of your Self.
Your Self, and everyone else's Self, are defined by what they themselves consume.
Production: How you are percieved
But your Self is not how you are percieved.
People percieve YOU, they do not percieve your experiences, parts, nor mechanisms.
What they do percieve, however, is what you produce.
What you produce is anything you bring into existence, tangibly or intangibly.
Music, paintings, how you look, how you act, these are things created from your own faculty, and are able to be percieved by others.
If you want people to percieve your true Self, you need to produce.
That is self expression.
